The Tacoma Propeller Club is part of The International Propeller Club, and was chartered on July 6, 1936. It is composed of a comprehensive representation of the marine industry core companies in the greater Puget Sound area: marine supply and marine surveyors, naval architects and marine engineers, labor and terminal operators, shipping companies and port administrators, towing companies and chemical and petroleum companies. They are the charter organization for the Sea Scout Ship 110 Charles N. Curtis and its youth. They also host a yearly scholarship competition for Pierce County public high school seniors, awarding nearly $10,000.00 annually.
